Place for a wheelchair user + ticket for a companion
Some trains have a wheelchair space, which can be reserved at a specific fare:
Eurostar and TGV INOUI
On Eurostar and TGV INOUI trains, one or more wheelchair spaces are provided in 1st class, which offers more space so you don't have to leave your wheelchair. These seats are located very close to large toilets, which are accessible to wheelchair users. This space will be given to you upon request (subject to availability). A special fare applies, so that wheelchair users (as well as one companion) can travel in 1st class at a 2nd class fare.
On direct connections to and from Belgium with Eurostar and TGV INOUI, you can now book the wheelchair space online or by phone, as well as the seat for an accompanying person.
ICE and OUIGO Brussels-Paris
Special wheelchair spaces are also available on ICE trains (Brussels-Cologne-Frankfurt connection) and on OUIGO Brussels-Paris. They are located in 2nd class, near the toilets for wheelchair users.
EuroCity, Eurocity Direct and regional cross-border trains
On EuroCity and Eurocity Direct trains between Belgium and the Netherlands, but also on our regional cross-border trains, mobility impaired passengers can be accompanied by one person travelling for free. Hereto, the mobility impaired passenger must be in possession of a national free carer card (issued by SNCB-NMBS), of a Luxembourg Carte d’invalidité (issued by CFL) or a Dutch OV-Begeleiderskaart (issued by NS).
Please note: on our regional trains to and from northern France (Lille or Maubeuge), the accompanying person travelling free of charge must be in possession of a free companion ticket. This free ticket can be obtained by phone.
Booking by phone
You can book the wheelchair space and/or the ticket for the accompanying person (free or not, depending on the train type) by phone on +32 2 607 30 04 (Monday-Friday from 8.00 to 20.00, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 9.00 to 16.30).
