Après-ski: unmissable resorts and events

Winter sports don't have to mean skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing, or winter walking... They can also mean concerts, parties and events at high altitude. Want to ski by day and party all night (or some of it)? You can! Here is a selection of resorts and events to help you take full advantage of your "après-ski" time. Put your moonboots on, grab your hat and gloves and enjoy every single moment of your stay in the French Alps.
Tomorrowland

Alpe d’Huez

With its 300 days of sunshine per year and 135 ski slopes across an area of 250 km, Alpe d'Huez is among the most desirable of ski resorts. After a day spent hurtling down the slopes, the resort has some high-profile events to offer you:

Cry with laughter at the International Comedy Film Festival (15–20 Jan)

A benchmark festival for discovering new comedies (the most popular cinematic genre), the International Comedy Film Festival is an opportunity to discover the hit films of the future in a friendly atmosphere.

Experience the magic of Tomorrowland Winter (9–16 March)

Discover the best festival in the world in a new setting and during the most magical time of the year... but above all, dance to the beats of the best DJs around: Armin van Buuren, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Martin Garrix, Steve Aoki, Afrojack and more.
Chamonix Unlimited

Chamonix

Also known as "Cham", Chamonix is the legendary ski capital of the Alps. Every year, it attracts skiers and non-skiers from all walks of life looking for an unforgettable experience in the heart of the mountains:

Don't miss the Chamonix Unlimited Festival (2–7 April)

This is the urban and Alpine end-of-season event in the capital of the Alps – start planning it with your friends right away. The festival takes over the most beautiful parts of Mont Blanc to offer guests the very best of electronic music, right in the heart of the mountains.

Go from the ski slopes to the dance floor

After a day spent hurtling down the slopes, get ready for a night of dancing! Meet at the Moö Bar or Elevation 1904, both trendy hotspots in the "Cham" railway station district. Looking for somewhere more private? Head straight to the Bar du Moulin, a smart, sociable place to savour cocktails and tapas.
Afterski

Val Thorens

At an altitude of 2,300 m, Val Thorens is the highest village in Europe. And with its famous Folie Douce and other events throughout the winter season, it might be the place that parties the hardest as well:

Enjoy the best après-ski parties at Folie Douce (every day from 2.30pm)

This authentic but unusual and festive chalet stands in the middle of the slopes, at the top of the Plein Sud and Pionniers ski-lifts. After a hard day's skiing or snowboarding, it's the place to be to let yourself go amidst a sea of champagne and glitter!

Dance through the night at Malaysia (every night from 10pm)

Here it is, the legendary Alpine nightspot: at Malaysia, you'll find a unique concept famed throughout the region – a music bar and nightclub in one, offering themed nights, live gigs, DJ battles and more.
Snowboxx

Avoriaz

Visitors choose Avoriaz for the winter sports, but also for the music and to party! The resort – part of the Portes du Soleil ski destination – has attractions for fans hoping to be moved by the music:

Spend a frosty but crazy week at the Snowboxx festival (23–30 March)

This electronic music festival transforms the slopes of Avoriaz into a gigantic dancefloor, giving clubbers searching for adrenaline a week-long, explosive mix of ski, concerts and après-ski fun!

Experience raw emotion during the Rock The Pistes festival (17–23 March)

What could be more cool than going to a concert in your skis? Rock The Pistes is mainly about concerts for all skiers at pop-up scenes created around the ski area... but it is also about après-ski concerts in the resorts to make the fun last even longer. The incredible DJ Offenbach will perform at Avoriaz, but you can also see other artists at 12 resorts including Champoussin, Morzine, and Champéry.
