4 not-to-miss ski resorts in the French Alps

Enough waiting, we can finally enjoy endless skiing pleasure again. Our trains take you directly to the most beautiful cities at the foot of the ski slopes without any traffic jams. Still not quite sure which ski resort to choose? Let our tips guide you!

1 | Val Thorens

Val Thorens is a well-known skiing resort that you, as an avid skier, should visit at least once in your lifetime. In addition to the classic skiing activities, there are also many other fun things to do. Explore the slopes by bike with FatBike, for example. There is also a large sports complex with a swimming pool and a bowling alley for you to hang out on days when the weather is bad.

2 | La Plagne

Are you a daring person? Then speed down the Sarenne slope in La Plagne, the longest black slope in the Alps. Or climb the 24-metre-high breathtaking ice tower. Fancy something a bit more light-hearted? Then head to Buffalo Park and glide down a Colorado-themed slope. It is accessible and fun for the whole family!

3 | Tignes

The Tignes ski resort is perfect for anyone looking for thrills. Fly with a paraglider over the slopes and admire them from a different angle. If you want to do something different from skiing for a day, dive under the snow in the frozen lake of Tignes-le-lac. Tip: plan this activity on a sunny day and enjoy rainbow colours and light circles under the surface of the snow.

4 | Les Arcs

The ski resort of Les Arcs has been focusing on innovation in recent years. In 2018, for example, they inaugurated the panoramic footbridge at the top of the Aiguille Rouge. They are doing everything they can to make this high-altitude site easily accessible to skiers and non-skiers alike. Be sure to take some time to discover the local traditions of Bourg-St-Maurice: visit La Maison de la Pomme or the Haute-Tarentaise dairy cooperative.
